Humanitarian worker in the field of child protection, clinical psychology and yoga instructor.

Following a few years working as clinical psychologist, Silvia decides to follow her gut and accepts an assignment as a volunteer psychologist among the Karimojong, a Masai population who live in the mountains in the northeast of Uganda. This experience will change her life forever and introduce her in the humanitarian world, where she will be working for several years, mostly in Africa and, more recently, in South East Asia and Pacific region.

Silvia discovered the yoga during her mission in South Sudan, in 2014. Immediately, she finds in this discipline a powerful resource to overcome distress and the many difficulties caused by a challenging job and a life in a war zone.
After years of daily practice and study, in 2018 Silvia travels to India, the homeland of yoga and the most renowned yoga masters, to complete her first yoga teacher training course

(200 hours). A year later, she returns to India to take the advanced level (300 hours, Hatha, Vinyasa e Ashtanga styles) and the first level of the sound therapy using the Tibetan bells. Ever since she has been teaching yoga in Val d’Ayas, she supports the annual Yoga Monterosa Festival and offers classes online too (https://www.facebook.com/YogaconSilviainValdAyas).

Spoken languages: English, Spanish and… French in progress!
